New Clubs

There are currently 9 clubs around Victoria, however if there is not one in a locality near you we encourage you to start one!

How to get a club started!

  • Find a few like-minded people who are interested in setting up a club
  • Get a mentor: Contact State Council, one of the executive may be able to be your mentor. Otherwise they can help connect you with someone in the local community who can mentor. Eg. a former YF member or another community group member such as Lions or Rotary who can help with the set up
  • Find a venue – approach local Publican, Ag Society, Community Centre to request permission to hold a meeting at their facilities
  • Advertise the meeting – create a poster or flier listing venue details, date, time and purpose of meeting to gain interest. Place around town in popular areas, local businesses and local paper. They may even do a story if you approach them.VYF state committee can also provide brochures and posters
  • Fill positions listed under the roles within a Club
  • Agree on a set monthly meeting date/time that suits members/potential members
  • Agree on a set Club Membership fee (usually an annual fee of about $20 per person is paid)
  • Register your Club with the State by completing the registration form (available from Executive Officer)
  • Apply for a supporting grant to get your club started & cover your initial start-up fees

New Club Grants

VYF support new clubs by offering a new club grant, that provides up to $200 to help with costs associated with starting and advertising a new club.
